Man Ray, Alphabet Pour Adultes

Signed by Man Ray and illustrated with 37 lithographs and an original signed mounted rayograph

"I'm trying to make my photography automatic-  to use my camera as I would a typewriter- in time I shall attain this and still avoid the irrelevant, for which scientific instruments have such a strong penchant. I'm working for the truth- one is apt to get too much of it, or get it a bit exaggerated."

"I turned on the light; before my eyes an image began to form, not quite a simple silhouette of the objects as in a straight photograph, but distorted and refracted by the glass more or less in contact with the paper."

-Man Ray, on the production of his first rayograph
